ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Lake Lessons is a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) workshop developed by the Saint Albans Museum to provide environmental education related to Lake Champlain for students and educators from Franklin and Grand Isle schools.

This place-based, hands-on educational program is provided by staff and volunteers from SAM and their community partners to help supplement existing environmental curriculum.

A grant-supported program, the series is offered free-of-charge (including transportation) to schools.

In-person programming is currently on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will resume in September of 2021. However, check out our LESSONS page for interactive virtual content from our program partners!

Our Mission...

is to provide a place-based enrichment workshop designed to bridge cultural heritage and science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) education focused on St. Albans Bay and Lake Champlain.

Our program is hosted outside at the St. Albans Bay Park and the Georgia Shore Beach Park. There are indoor restrooms available at both locations. In case of rain, we have large event tents and indoor spaces to use onsite.
